james l briley2020 President's Message

Thank you for visiting our Chattanooga PMI website.  Whether you are new to Project Management, a long time practitioner, or just want to gain the skills needed to work with a project we welcome all levels of participation in our community and events.

In 2020 we are on track for another record year of membership as the Profession continues to grow.  In 2018 we had 300 members and thanks to the leadership of our Board and support of our members we have grown to over 400 members which represents an increase by 33% in just two short years!  Just like our chapter, the industry is growing at an amazing rate with certifications and specialties that go far beyond the already valuable PMP certification.   Chattanooga has been featured on Forbes list of Growing Job Markets and with that our profession and skills are in growing demand!  If you are interested in knowing more the Chattanooga Chapter and our Sponsors & Partners are here to help.

As the Chattanooga Chapter’s 2020 President I invite you join us for Networking Opportunities such as Axe Throwing, Coffee Roasting, PDUs in a Pint, Ice Cream Socials, Luncheons, and Taco Tuesdays.  Meet practitioners and leaders from our amazing hosts and local businesses such as Velo Coffee Roasters, Local Paletas, Clumpy’s Ice Cream, and Rock City just to name a few.   Meet local leaders who serve on our Board such as past Presidents Deborah and Colby or other key members of our board in their VP and Director roles from Publicity and Social Media to Finance and Membership.

If your interest is in getting Professional Development Units please consider the following offerings:

Volunteering for Chapter Events such as helping us identify our 2020 PM of the Year, Project of the Year, or one of our open Board Positions.

Or attend our Professional Development Day where you can get 8 hours of PDUs in just one day while meeting 75 – 100 of your local peers while learning from nationally recognized speakers and teachers.

We look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event.  Please feel free to come say hello to me and your peers as we continue to grow and thrive in 2020!

Sincerely,

James L. Briley – PMP
